Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to paid Read Aloud Text subscriptions and top-up purchases made through https://readaloudtext.com. Creem acts as merchant of record for web purchases and may technically process approved refunds.
Nothing in this Policy limits a refund, cancellation, withdrawal, or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
1. Refund eligibility
1.1 Unused purchase
You may request a refund within 14 calendar days after the charge if no paid characters or credits from the purchase have been used.
1.2 Minimal use
You may request a refund within 7 calendar days after the charge if fewer than 1,000 characters funded by the purchase have been used.
Usage is determined by Read Aloud Text’s generation and credit records. Preview characters or usage specifically identified as free do not count as paid usage.
1.3 Payment error, unauthorized payment, or material technical failure
Contact us within 14 calendar days after the disputed charge if:
- you were charged incorrectly or more than once;
- your account or payment method was used without authorization; or
- a material technical problem attributable to Read Aloud Text prevented you from using the purchased Service and we could not provide a reasonable remedy.
We may request information needed to verify the transaction, investigate account security, or reproduce a technical failure. Unauthorized card activity may also need to be reported to Creem or your payment provider.
2. Non-refundable circumstances
Except where required by law, a purchase is not refundable when:
- more than 1,000 paid characters have been used;
- the applicable 7-day or 14-day request period has expired;
- the request concerns dissatisfaction after substantial use rather than a material defect;
- access was suspended or terminated for fraud, unlawful activity, unauthorized voice cloning, payment abuse, or a material breach of the Terms;
- credits expired under the disclosed monthly credit rules;
- the user forgot to cancel before an automatic renewal;
- the user deleted content, a share link, a voice, or an account; or
- the issue was caused by the user’s device, network, unsupported configuration, content, or a third-party service outside our reasonable control.
3. No partial refunds
We do not provide prorated or partial refunds for unused time, unused subscription credits, plan downgrades, or cancellation during a billing period, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
If a full refund is approved, credits, plan access, or entitlements associated with the refunded purchase may be removed immediately.
4. Refund limit
Refunds under our voluntary policy are ordinarily limited to one approved refund per account. This limit does not apply where a further refund is required by law or results from a verified duplicate charge, unauthorized payment, or error attributable to Read Aloud Text or Creem.
Creating additional accounts to avoid this limit may result in refusal and account restriction.
5. Cancellation is different from a refund
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not automatically refund the current or previous billing period.
You can cancel through the billing portal made available with your subscription. Unless a refund is approved or law requires otherwise, access continues until the end of the paid period.
6. How to request a refund
Email support@readaloudtext.com with:
- the email address used for the purchase;
- the Creem order, invoice, or transaction identifier;
- the date and amount charged; and
- a short explanation of the request.
Do not email full payment-card details.
We aim to review a complete request within seven business days. If approved, Creem will process the refund to the original payment method where possible. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to display the credit.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback so that we can investigate. A chargeback does not guarantee a refund and may result in temporary restriction of the associated account while the payment dispute is reviewed.
Fraudulent or abusive disputes may be contested and may result in termination.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy for future purchases. The version in effect on the purchase date will ordinarily apply to that purchase unless a later version is more favorable or applicable law requires otherwise.
